Cosy cosies

This morning whilst waiting for the kettle to boil and release swirly white steam into our little cottage kitchen I could hear sea gulls through the baby monitor, I glanced behind to where the little speaker where the harking sea side sounds came and was greeted with sunshine yellow daffodils sitting pretty in faded vintage jugs upon a bed of flowery cath oil cloth, and just for a teeny tiny minute I thought I might be in St Ives, in a little rented fisherman's cottage,

from the back door I spotted them high making patterns in the sky before gliding away. you can often hear sea birds here, or when the winds right smell the salty water from the creek (sometimes if I'm to be honest though the creek doesn't smell too good, especially in the heat of hazy summer, when the tide is out and the muddy bed is beyond its best.)

Upon stumbling into our little towns library very sheepish as we had had a bit of an accident with their books and a glass of red wine, I spotted the knitters year by Debbie bliss, I hadn't fancied it but for some reason I borrowed it. I was so wrong and had to buy a copy of my very own from amazon, there is so much loveliness to sit with feet swirled underneath me, tea waiting cooling, and spring evenings fading just outside whilst I knit.

I've knitted these little bunny cosies, soft and candy coloured, and am part way through a flag, although I have gone a bit wrong there, can you spot the mistake? I'm planning to make sammy a scarf with a flag at each end towards the end of the year when the days start to turn cooler again!

after a lovely morning at baby group, and the old second hand book shop, sammy and I wandered home slower than a snail, back to the daffodils and the swirling steam from the kettle, the sea gulls were long gone but their sea sidey charm had stayed behind waiting for us filling our hearts with jolly holiday cheer, I'm sure my step will have an extra spring in it on the way to school this afternoon!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
