October Knitting

October is back in a flurry of flying leaves, the cherry tree by our little cottage window was flung forwards and back the other evening, I was fearful I might hear a tapping and a cold distant voice shouting let me in, oh I cant remember what the actual voice says, is it let me in, or Cathy, and Wuthering Heights is one of my favourite books, (I'm blaming my scatty-ness at the moment on lack of sleep and still a bit of left over baby brain!) I like it more than P and P, every winter I swirl my woolly sock clad feet underneath me and sit reading under crochet blankets WH, It's one of the things I do to celebrate the season, to enjoy being cosy in our cottage, reading or crocheting in front of the dancing flames of the fire.

I've nearly finished some of my knitting, I seem to knit a few things all at the same time, its not planned, it just sort of happens. First was a pixie hat for Sammy inspired so so much by Greedy for Colour I had a go and sort of made it up as I went along, I had to use the same colours though they are so sea sidey!

and, Mister Fox is ever so nearly done, he's just waiting for a scarf to keep his little neck warm and rather more pressing a button for his top and one for his trousers too to keep them fastened, he had a bit of a situation the other night when he was in Salisbury's buying some bread and cheese, he stopped to tie his boot lace and nearly lost his trousers altogether!

As always my quality control tester stepped in to carry out various vital tests in a flowery eiderdown controlled environment!

just waiting for a few buttons, you can see how this might get embarrassing for a fox about town,

In true make do and mend style I'm using up some odd balls of a cotton yarn to make a little hoodie for Sammy, I offered to knit for Joshy but he declined, six year old boys can't be seen in their mummy's knits, Fingers crossed the orange lasts for a few more rows.

Enjoy your Autumn!

I am going to have to copy that jumper!!!! In fact I don't think you copied me with the hat - I think we are just blessed with exactly the same taste. And as for that fox, I am in awe. Lots of love, Kate xxooxxooxx (from greedy for colour).
